Privacy notice

This notice explains what Cruiser Dossier collects when you send us a correction or submission, and what we do with it. We've written it in plain language. It's a description of our practices, not legal advice.
What we collect
- What you submit: the model, market, years, details, source links or evidence description, and the page you're correcting.
- Optional: a name (to credit you) and an email address (only so we can ask follow-up questions). Leave both blank if you prefer.
- Technical data for anti-spam: a Cloudflare Turnstile check, plus the time of submission and your browser's user-agent string. We don't store your IP address with the submission.
- No accounts, no advertising trackers on the form, and we don't sell or share submissions.
How submissions are used
- Every submission is reviewed by hand before anything is published. Nothing goes live automatically.
- Published community information is labelled Community-submitted until it's matched to a citable source.
- We publish your name only if you gave one for credit. We never publish your email address.
Vehicle and photo rules
- No full VINs, chassis/frame numbers or number plates. A model code or the first few characters of a frame number is enough. We'll redact anything extra before publishing.
- Photo location data is stripped. If we accept photos in future, we'll remove EXIF/GPS metadata before storing or publishing them, and blur plates. You must own the photo or have permission to share it.
Where it's stored and for how long
Submissions are stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare. We keep names and email addresses for up to 12 months, then delete them.
Your choices: access and deletion
To see, correct or delete anything you've sent us, email privacy@cruiserdossier.com. We'll reply within 20 working days. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
